At that time, towers not built for military purposes were very rare, and the primary function of this one was to host feasts and celebrations. The name “Salkhino” derives precisely from this purpose. According to preserved inscriptions, the Vashlovani Tower was built in 1811 by its patron, Major General Tamaz Orbeliani of the Russian Army, with the architect named Master Giorgi.

1. The round tower is constructed of limestone and brick and is equipped with fireplaces. Three floors have been preserved, each containing a single room.
