Likani Palace was built between 1892 and 1895 based on a design by architect L. Benois, with construction overseen by Tbilisi-based architect L. Bilfeld. The palace, built with an asymmetrical layout, is situated on a specially designed terrace. The diverse decorative styles of its façades reflect the architectural trends of that era. After the establishment of Soviet rule, Likani Palace became state property and its function changed several times over the years.

Did you know that...

1. In 1898, a hydroelectric power station was built to supply electricity to the palace, making it the first of its kind in the Russian Empire.

2. Among the historical artefacts preserved in Likani Palace are: a table gifted by Napoleon to the Romanovs, a chair presented by the Shah of Iran, a walnut table crafted by Emperor Peter I of Russia himself, and a billiard table dating back to the Romanov era.
